GTA 6 Is Almost Ready: Insider Confirms Content Complete, Just Final Polish Left

Tom Henderson, the well-known gaming journalist and insider who first floated the idea that GTA 6 might be delayed from May to November, is now pushing back against the recent chatter that the game isn’t ready. On a recent Insider Gaming podcast, Henderson revealed that, according to his sources, all of GTA 6’s in-game content has been completed for quite some time. What’s left, he says, is just that final layer of polish — the finishing touches that could make Rockstar’s next open-world epic truly shine. In other words, November 19, 2026? Yeah, it’s looking solid.

“All of the game’s content has been done for a while,” Tom Henderson said.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick seemed to back him up in a recent interview, saying the company feels confident about the planned launch — though he didn’t completely rule out the possibility of small tweaks. With Rockstar, nothing is ever truly locked until the game hits players’ consoles. Henderson also pointed out that this kind of delay isn’t cheap: he estimates it could cost Take-Two around $60 million. But he stressed that Rockstar is aiming for a polished, fully optimized experience — “without a single bug.” In short, they want GTA 6 to hit the ground running. As things stand, GTA 6 is officially set to drop on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. No word yet on a PC version, but fans are hoping it will follow soon after the console launch. If history is any guide, Rockstar will make sure it’s worth the wait, delivering another sprawling, meticulously crafted open-world adventure.
