Earlier this year, Rockstar Games officially confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on May 26, 2026. But according to new insider reports, that date might not be set in stone — fans could be waiting a few extra months.
Reliable industry insider Millie A, who accurately predicted the announcements of Marvel’s Wolverine and LEGO 2K Drive long before they were revealed, claims that internal discussions at Rockstar hint at a possible delay to September 2026.
While May is still the official release window, sources suggest that Rockstar may push the launch to give the team additional time for polish and final tweaks.
Adding fuel to the rumors, a GTA forum user known as GameRoll — who correctly leaked Lucia and Jason’s last names before the second trailer — recently stated that Chapter 5 is in active development, with large portions currently being reworked. If true, that could explain why the studio is considering an internal shift.
While a potential delay might disappoint eager fans, there’s some good news on the horizon. Millie A reports that Rockstar won’t be raising the price of GTA 6 beyond the standard $70, despite industry speculation. The game will reportedly offer a Deluxe Edition at $90 and a Premium Edition at $110, each with additional content.
Many players had feared that Take-Two Interactive would establish $80 as the new benchmark for AAA games. However, if GTA 6 sticks to $70, it would reinforce the standard pricing model — especially since EA and Xbox continue to price their flagship titles similarly.
According to Millie A, the PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI isn’t expected until late 2027 or early 2028, arriving well after the console release.
As for the premium editions, the Deluxe Edition will reportedly offer early access to the new GTA Online, while the Premium Edition could include “first access,” possibly allowing players to jump in even sooner.
