The surprise gaming hit of 2025, Dispatch, may be heading toward a second season much faster than fans originally anticipated. Following the powerful conclusion of Dispatch, interest in continuing the story exploded across the community, quickly turning casual discussion into serious industry talk. Developed by AdHoc Studio, Dispatch was never expected to reach such a wide audience. The interactive narrative game gained momentum through its strong storytelling and its close connection to the Critical Role universe. However, AdHoc is currently deep into development on another major project set in Exandria, which led many players to believe that Dispatch Season 2 could be delayed indefinitely.

That assumption changed during GalaxyCon, where Critical Role CEO Travis Willingham addressed the future of the Dispatch game directly. According to Willingham, Critical Role is fully on board with a second season and wants it to happen as soon as possible. He explained that discussions are already underway about how AdHoc Studio could balance development between Dispatch and the upcoming Exandria-based title. This public endorsement signals more than casual interest. It suggests that Critical Role is prepared to actively support AdHoc Studio by helping manage priorities, resources, and production timelines. While AdHoc has not officially confirmed Dispatch Season 2 yet, the backing from Critical Role significantly improves the game’s chances of moving forward.
That said, players should still manage expectations. Even if development begins soon, a second season of Dispatch would likely be several years away due to the scale of production and the studio’s current commitments. In the meantime, Dispatch is set to expand its audience with an upcoming Nintendo Switch release, keeping the game in the spotlight while plans take shape.
