Embark Studios has rolled out ARC Raiders Hotfix 1.7.2, a follow-up patch to the major Cold Snap winter update that launched on December 16. The hotfix is now live across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, focusing on balance adjustments and critical bug fixes discovered after the winter overhaul. The primary change in Hotfix 1.7.2 is a rebalanced blueprint drop rate. While blueprints still drop more frequently than before version 1.7.0, Embark has reduced excessive farming potential introduced with the Cold Snap update. This adjustment aims to keep progression rewarding without breaking long-term balance.
The update also restores the Hidden Bunker activity, which had been temporarily disabled, and fixes a major interaction bug that caused players to lose all interaction functionality during unstable network conditions when repeatedly pressing the interact button. Winter mechanics received additional polish as well. Some indoor areas were mistakenly applying cold damage even when players were inside buildings. Hotfix 1.7.2 adds missing protective volumes, ensuring enclosed locations now properly shield players from freezing temperatures.
Additional improvements include:
- An updated warning message for AMD GPU users
- A fix for the Unexpected Initiative quest, where required items previously failed to spawn
Embark Studios notes that this hotfix is just one step in their ongoing post-update support for ARC Raiders, with further refinements expected as the Cold Snap content continues to evolve.
